WHERE WE ARE
Saruni Rhino is located in Sera Community Conservancy, in the wild, undiscovered northern frontier of Kenya. The camp is a little under 2 hours from our Saruni Samburu lodge in nearby Kalama Conservancy.
The 3-‘banda’ camp (rustic stone cottages) is situated on the edge of a doum palm-lined ‘lugga’, a dry river bed, a half hour’ drive from the first of its kind in East Africa, community-owned & managed Sera Rhino Sanctuary. The site was previously known as the Kauro Bandas by the Kauro Lugga.

Arriving by Plane:
- Chartered plane: The closest airstrip is the Kauro airstrip, a 5 mins’ drive from camp, and its coordinates are N01°03’ 52”E37°42’58”;
- Scheduled plane: Both Air Kenya & Safarilink fly daily to Kalama airstrip in Kalama Conservancy – the same airstrip when staying at Saruni Samburu, a 2 hour’s drive away. Guests staying at both Saruni Samburu & Saruni Rhino are transferred free of charge between the two properties.
